Correspondence Reveal the late financier and former Trump strategist Relationship

In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK preparing for a speech at the Oxford Union.

The speech was interrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to travel that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists delayed my talk don't think I can make the plane we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein responded: "That. Is a Gulf Air departing at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "U r an amazing assistant".

These messages were published on this week together with more than 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the House oversight committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's identity is withheld. The BBC has been able to confirm his identity by cross-referencing the timeline, occurrences, and locations mentioned.

For instance, Epstein discusses arranging a jet from the UK for the unnamed individual in the chat, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon participated in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and delivered the speech at the Oxford Union on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, did not reply on the request for comment.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of the president's closest aides in the lead-up to the presidential election and in the early days of his first administration, but stepped down from the administration in 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a documentary about Epstein before his passing and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his show recently, he stated: "We plan to release the film, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed documents suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier at times appearing to serve like a aide.

A short time prior to the conversation in which Epstein seemed to booked a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "what's it like to have the highest-paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r pretty good asst", to which Epstein responded "Massages. Excluded".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in another message, Epstein told Bannon: "I'll make sure you are taken care of."

UK Politics Mentioned in Exchanges

The published messages also show Bannon and Epstein discussing UK politics in that year.

Earlier on the day of his address at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit thing this morning with Farage, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to Theresa May, the embattled UK prime minister at the time, he continued: "They are trying to move on. May soon…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "I think staying as long as you can in the UK. Best-- so others get the dedication of your follow-up."

Soon after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa May survive". Bannon answered: "It seems unlikely however the people here have no balls" and noted "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; Davis - someone has to take charge".

May was eventually removed in May 2019 after withstanding multiple attempts of no confidence in December 2018.

A representative for the political party told media: "Farage has never been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest that encounter took place.

The US House of Representatives will vote next week on whether the justice department should make public all its records concerning its investigation into Epstein, who died in prison in 2019.

Attention in Epstein's relationships with influential individuals was renewed this week after the publication of more than 20,000 pages from his estate.
